REQUIREMENTS : A qualification at NQF degree four as acknowledged via SAQA. Driver’s license Code EC and working certificates (for heavy responsibility vehicles). Skills And Knowledge: Relevant Acts and regulations. Operating roads machinery. Health and security measures. Working approaches in recognize of roads environment. Skills: Communication, Ability to study and write, Teamwork, Operation of the equipment, Physical inspection of motors and interpret guidelines for appropriate use of all controls for secure operation of vehicles. Interpret and comply with running manuals, preservation manuals and carrier charts.
DUTIES : Perform things to do in recognize of operation through: Operating specialised equipment. Load and offload goods/equipment. Inspection and upkeep of gear and document defects. Keep log sheets of motors and machineries. Application of security and precautionary measures. Cleaning and lubrication of machinery/equipment. Grading of gravel roads re-graveling/shoulder maintenance. Render using services. Render riding offerings Perform things to do in appreciate of operation via inter alia the following: Transportation of work groups and materials/ equipment’s. Detect and restore minor mechanical troubles on the automobiles and take steps to have it repaired (check stage and situation of oil, fuel, tyres and water). Inspection of the vehicles/equipment and file defects. Complete automobile logbook, time out authorization for the vehicle.
